Batman Begins
Watched Batman Begins yesterday after hearing good reviews about it. Was rather skeptical about enjoying a movie whose hero dons a bat-suit.
But I really really had a good time! :) May I just say that Christian Bale was swoonable! haha.. I haven't felt like this about an actor since Hugh Jackman in X-men years ago... no not really, there was Jim Cavaziel in The Passion. wow.. :P
It's wonderful how they actually take a comic and make it believable, have intelligent dialogue and have characters that are real people. In certain areas, where it stretches the seams into melodrama, it is always reigned back with a deft touch. Christian Bale played Batman like steel under velvet, with a streak of vulnerability, slipping effortlessly into the story - like a tortured hero shouldering the burdens of humanity...sounds familiar?
I haven't enjoyed a movie this much since "Down with Love". Will get the DVD when it comes out. Christian Bale.. sigh.. :) An intelligent woman's thinking hero. :)
