Indulgence

Saw an advertisement on a new CD album called "Modern Classics - A contemporary collection of modern jazz and classical"

I must be in a romantic mood this season. :) Feel very laid back and jazzy and chillin'

Anyway, I've included the lyrics of two songs from the album here. You are able to 'hear' it in the lyrics - 'it' being the sizzle and the slow groove - it'll be great if you could listen to the music.

Hmm.. the music and lyrics are a little sexy so be forewarned. :D

Is there a balance between guarding your heart and being unafraid of one's latent passions? Just a thought..

Well, the first is "Fever". It's a little tongue-in-cheek. It's hilarious when you just read the lyrics alone. :) I can just imagine looking at the silhouette of a lady, as the music starts...

Fever (Eddie Cooley & John Davenport)
sung by Gwyneth Herbert
, from the album "Bittersweet and Blue"

Never know how much I love you
Never know how much I care
When you put your arms around me
I get a fever that's so hard to bear

You give me fever, when you kiss me
Fever when you hold me tight
Fever in the morning
Fever all through the night

Sun lights up the daytime
Moon lights up the night
My eyes light up when you call my name
"Cause I know you're gonna treat me right

You give me fever, when you kiss me
Fever when you hold me tight
Fever in the morning
Fever all through the night

Everybody's got the fever
That is something you should know
Fever isn't such a new scene
Fever started long ago

Romeo loved Juliet
Juliet, she felt the same
When he put his arms around her
He said Julie baby, you're my flame

Thou givest fever when we kiss
Fever with the flaming youth
Fever I'm afire
Fever yea I burn for sooth'

Captain Smith and Pocahontas
Had a very mad affair
When her daddy tried to kill him
She said, daddy oh don't you dare

He gives me fever
With his kisses
Fever when he holds me tight
Fever, I'm his Misses
Daddy, won't you treat him right

Now you've listened to my story
Here's the point that I have made
Cats were born to give chicks fever
Be it fahrenheit or centigrade
They give you fever when you kiss them

Fever if you live and learn
Fever till you sizzle
What a lovely way to burn
What a lovely way to burn
What a lovely way to burn

You give me fever, fever
You give me, you give me fever

Everybody's got the fever
That is something you all know
Fever isn't such a new thing
Fever started long ago

You give me fever, fever
You give me, you give me fever

The next song is called 'Besame Mucho'

Hmm.. if I want to get soapy (as in soap opera) about it, it'll be like the theme song of a torrid love affair. If I choose to be sentimental, it'll be the song a brave wife would sing to her husband on the eve of his conscription to the war effort. In any case, if you wrap the music and lyrics around your senses, it's pretty seductive.

Besame Mucho (Consuelo Velssquez)
sung by Diana Krall, from the album 'The Look of Love'

Besame, besame mucho,
Como si fuera esta noche la última vez,
Besame, besame mucho,
Que tengo miedo a perderte, perderte despues

Quiero sentirte muy cerca
mirarme en tus ojos verte junto a mí
Piensa que tal vez mañana yo
ya estare lejos, muy lejos de ti

[English translation]

Kiss me, kiss me a lot,
As if tonight were the last time
Kiss me, kiss me a lot,
For I'm scared to lose you, to lose you afterwards

I want to feel you very close, see myself in your eyes, see you near me
Think that maybe tomorrow I'll already be far, very far away from you
